Visit and participate to keep continuity between home and our centre

Parents play a crucial role at Feathers. We try to maintain continuity between the child’s life at home and at our centre. Parents are always welcome at Feathers to come observe or take part in our activities. Parent participation sends strong positive messages to your child that you support them and are part of the child care environment.

Parents are also invited to help decide policies for our centre.

Communication between mothers, fathers and Feathers

To ensure that things run smoothly, it is important that we maintain open communication and cooperate with each other. This can be around simple matters such as the initial settling in procedure and daily drop-offs, what clothes to bring, working together to ensure your child’s health as well as that of our other children, etc

All parents are required to sign their child in and out of the centre every time on the form provided at the front door. While verbal reminders on your child’s needs are appreciated, it’s best that you make notes in the book to ensure nothing is overlooked.

We’ll keep you informed of centre activities through newsletters, notices posted at the door and information on the parents’ notice board. You’ll also be able to look at your child’s individual portfolio, where work, educational development and significant events are recorded.
